OCP-IP
Sponsors 2nd International SoC Conference
PORTLAND, ORE.
— September 22, 2004 — Open Core Protocol International Partnership (OCP-IP)
is co-sponsoring the 2nd International System-on-Chip (SoC) Conference, a
highly targeted and focused conference addressing the entire SoC-related
chain, including semiconductor vendors, chip foundries, EDA-tool and IP
vendors and vendors of CPU and DSP cores.
The 2nd Annual International System-on-Chip (SoC) Conference will be held at
the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Silicon Valley Milpitas, November 3rd and 4th. It
provides opportunities for design engineers and developers to share their
knowledge with an international audience of engineering colleagues. The show
brings together leading companies from all over the world and provides
opportunity to review the very latest information on SoC-related
technologies. The expo keeps developers, engineers, designers, project
managers, and executives abreast of recent advances and future demands.
“Our members are industry leaders in building complex SoCs that integrate
multiple CPUs, DSPs and other IP through high performance interfaces,” said
Ian Mackintosh, president of OCP-IP. “We are pleased to provide our
leadership to endorse and promote the 2nd International SoC Conference.”
“With today’s complex SoC designs, the importance of OCP-IP in creating a
complete socket standard that ensures rapid creation and integration of
interoperable virtual components is becoming more evident. We are very
pleased to have OCP-IP sponsor and support the Savant 2nd International
System-on-Chip Conference,” said Farhad Mafie, president and CEO, Savant
Company Inc.
About OCP-IP
The OCP International Partnership Association, Inc. (OCP-IP) was
announced in December 2001 to promote and support the open core protocol (OCP)
as the complete socket standard that ensures rapid creation and integration
of interoperable virtual components. OCP-IP’'s Governing Steering Committee
participants are: Nokia [NYSE: NOK], Texas Instruments [NYSE: TXN],
STMicroelectronics [NYSE: STM], United Microelectronics Corporation [NYSE:
UMC], Sonics, and other industry leading companies. OCP-IP is a non-profit
corporation delivering the first fully supported, openly licensed
core-centric protocol that comprehensively fulfills system-level integration
requirements. The OCP facilitates IP core reusability and reduces design
time and risk, along with manufacturing costs for SoC designs. VSIA endorses
the OCP socket, and OCP-IP is an Adoption Group of the VSI Alliance.
