Synfora to Showcase Tools for
Fastest SoC and Low Power Design at the 3rd International System-on-Chip
Conference and Exhibit
Company will demo newest
release of Synfora PICO Express and show the world’s first
automatically-created H.264 encoder application engine
Mountain View, Calif. — October 25, 2005 — Attendees of the 3rd
International System-on-Chip (SoC) Conference and Exhibit will see
advanced SoC design technology in the SynforaTM exhibit, where the
company will be showing an H.264 encoder application engine and the
product used to automatically create it: Synfora PICO Express. The
Conference and Exhibit will be held November 1 and 2, 2005 at the
Radisson Hotel in Newport Beach, Calif. Synfora is the leader in
application engine synthesis for fastest SoC design.
According to Raj Singh, senior vice-president of worldwide marketing and
sales at Synfora, “With Synfora’s newest products, designers can express
complete, complex SoC blocks in a high-level language and produce fully
timed, verifiable RTL that feeds any design flow. We look forward to
showing the attendees how Synfora’s technology can greatly improve how
SoC designs are implemented.”
Synfora to Show the World’s First Automatically Designed Application
Engine Created in just six man-months, the application engine for
an H.264 encoder was designed using Synfora PICO and ASPENTM processor
technologies. To design the same engine using existing methods would
take an estimated 6.5 man-years.
Demonstrations of PICO Express 5.01 for Fastest SoC and Low Power Design
Also at the Conference,
attendees will see demos of the newest release of Synfora PICO Express
for application engine synthesis. It features enhanced capabilities for
implementing state-of-the-art algorithms found in multimedia (H.264, WMV),
imaging,
(photo-quality printing),
wireless (3GPP), and security (AES) applications. PICO Express creates
flow-controlled networks of hardware accelerators from sequential C
algorithms. It also provides excellent support for low voltage libraries,
enabling engineers to target low power designs with unprecedented ease.
“Designers are creating more and more multi-function, high performance,
low cost SoCs. They need innovative tools such as Synfora’s PICO Express;
tools that generate optimal architectures and synthesizable RTL from ANSI
C algorithms,” said Farhad Mafie, president and CEO of the Savant Company
Inc. and organizer of the SoC Conference. “We’re pleased that Synfora
will be showing its advanced synthesis products to designers at the SoC
Conference and Exhibit.”
